2015 "Acute Angle" Riesling
Many people think of Riesling as a sweet wine, and indeed it can be! But it can also be crisp, minerally, and perfectly balanced. Riesling is very sensitive to the soil and weather it’s grown in. Microclimates often play a strong role in determining the characteristics of Riesling wines. Our idea of a fun evening is to get a group of Rieslings from different areas together, and see which stands out as the most unique.
Few vinifera blocks in Essex County produced grapes in 2015. Our Riesling from this year may be little, but she is fierce, with high minerality and a touch of honey that appears to be a product of our front block soil.
